The Left Banke were a late 1960's band from New York with a unique sound. Critics labeled them "baroque-pop" due to the
classical influences in their music. Besides three songs that hit the Billboard charts, "Walk Away Renee," "Pretty Ballerina," and "Desiree," the group left behind a legacy of music that influenced notable musicans ranging from Leonard Bernstein to Alice Cooper. |

inspiration for this site and helping it to grow:
Dawn Eden for the interviews and Damien Youth for transcripting them. The oh so sexy Alan Merrill. MySpace pal and great filmmaker Allison Anders. Deena for the Teen Set 1967 article & Central Park Zoo pics. Ran from Road Ode for the "Walk Away Renee" video. Leftbankeisms 1 & 2 downloads would not be possible without John Kennedy, Tom Finn, Jeff Winfield, and Angela Wedo. The Steve Martin Caro & Jeff Winfield demos are available on this site due to the generousity of Angela Wedo, John Kennedy, Barbara Linn, and Jeff Winfield. Strangers On A Train was converted from vinyl to MP3 by Power Pop Lovers. Even Johan Ottersland & Glockenspiel Productions donated The Michael Brown Story.
